Communication and Media Studies with focus on Communication and Media Change History


Since September 2012, research associate at the Department of Communication and Media Studies with a focus on communication history and media change at the University of Bremen. She previously worked at the branch office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Vietnam. Until 2011 Christina Sanko studied Communication and Media Studies and English at the University of Leipzig. The areas Historic and Systematic Communication Studies and Cultural Studies were her major fields of study. The title of her Master’s thesis was "Torn Between Peace and Conflict Reporting: How Belfast's Daily Press Covers the Latest Stage of the Peace Process in Northern Ireland."
Christina Sanko also studied journalism within the Master's program at the EW Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University in Athens, OH. During her studies she worked as a student assistant in the DFG project Virtual Library "media stage film" and also worked for several years on the media education project "Seitenstark-Chat". She gained journalistic experience through internships at (among other firms) CNN International and the German Press Agency (dpa).
