Katharina Heitmann is research associate in the project „tinder the city: Software-based scenarios against the crisis of publics in cities and surrounding areas“ at ZeMKI, Centre for Media, Communication and Information Sciences. From 2006 to 2012 she studied cultural studies an media- and communication studies at the University of Bremen. In her MA thesis she did research into online dating of 40-60 year old singles. After completing her studies she worked in the field of media literacy and public relations in the State Media Authority of Bremen „Bremische Landesmedienanstalt“. An important focus of her work there was the establishment and the coordination of the media literacy network in Bremen and Bremerhaven and furthermore the development of the online platform MEKOcloud.de. From 2015 to 2017 she also worked as a lecturer at the University of Bremen.
