New website on pioneer journalism in Germany

The ZeMKI, Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research at the University of Bremen and the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans Bredow Institute in Hamburg have published a new website on pioneer journalism in Germany.

An interactive map provides data on various journalistic companies, start-ups and projects that are pushing and shaping the transformation of journalism, especially digitally, in a wide variety of experimental fields. Organisations that specifically promote innovations in journalism are also included. As the field continues to be very dynamic, further "pioneering" journalistic organisations will be added step by step. An easy-to-use reporting tool helps interested actors to provide the researchers with information on the basic data and experimental fields of their "pioneering" companies and projects.

The website was developed within the framework of the joint research project "Pioneer Journalism: The Re-figuration of the Organisation(s) of Journalism" of the research network "Communicative Figurations", in which the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen and the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans Bredow Institute in Hamburg are significantly involved.

The mapping website "Pioneer Journalism in Germany" can be reached via www.pioneerjournalism.org.
